After having completed her PhD research on drivers behind European Union engagement with women's rights in societies in transition, Dr Elise Ketelaars will start working as a country of origin information (COI) researcher with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs in August 2020.
COI researchers examine the human rights situation and political developments in host countries of significant refugee and migrant populations. COI researchers combine desk research with field visits to the countries under examination. COI research informs policy and judicial decisions in the realm of asylum and migration in the Netherlands.
