The Centre for Legal Technology was delighted to contribute to a thought-provoking event at the University of Galway School of Law.
Dr Adam Buick presented his paper, “Copyright and the AI Act – Assessing the impact of the draft code of practice and template for summary of training data”, offering timely insights into how the evolving regulatory landscape is shaping the future of copyright in the age of AI.
Dr John McCord, Research Lead at the CLT, and John Keers BL, Director of the Centre, delivered a presentation on our AI Security Institute - funded Early Neutral Evaluation (ENE) project, which explores the potential for Agentic AI to support judicial decision-making in a safe, ethical, and transparent way. This was followed by a broader discussion on the Centre’s expanding research portfolio, which sits at the intersection of law, technology, and public policy.
We are grateful to Associate Professor Rónán Kennedy and Dr Alison Hough of the Technological University of the Shannon, for the kind invitation and warm hospitality.
