Online Seminar - Inclusion and Peace Processes, dealing with the inclusion of women

Attended remotely by over 50 people.

On 25 March, working while social isolating, TJI Director and coordinator of the PSRP gender theme Catherine O’Rourke, worked together with the PSRP Director Christine Bell, to deliver a seminar for the UK Foreign and Commonwealth (FCO) Office Stabilisation Unit on Inclusion and Peace Processes, dealing with the inclusion of women.

The seminar was attended remotely by over 50 people from within the Department for International Development and the FCO.  Discussion raised questions of: capacity building; the difficulties of involving women beyond ‘elites’; military and security sector reform and women; and local agreements.  A recording of the session will be available for DFID and FCO staff over the coming weeks.  The Seminar was part of an internal DFID, Conflict and Politics learning series focused on Women, Peace and Security.
