Eilish Rooney has been named the Faculty Supervisor of the Year in Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; this is in recognition of her record as an outstanding supervisor in providing intellectual stimulus and rigour as well as a commitment to ethics and care in supervision.
Eilish’s supervisees regularly comment on her intellectual contribution to their work, sparking ‘feminist curiosity’ (Linda Eitrem Holmgren) and redefining ‘my understanding of activist research and epistemology of knowledge’ (Azadeh Sobout).
According to her fellow supervisors, Eilish is an active and respectful listener and has gone the ‘extra mile’ in helping supervisees through difficulties, providing them with opportunities and supporting their careers.
