Every student PC or Macintosh supported by Digital Services has a standard desktop. A core set of applications and utilities is provided which includes:

  • Microsoft Office 365 Click 2 Run or Professional Plus (Word, Powerpoint, and Excel)
  • Edge, Google Chrome or Safari web browser
  • Statistical software such as SPSS
  • Utilities such as Acrobat Reader

Student PC systems run a Windows 10 Enterprise Current Branch operating system and Apple systems run an MacOS operating system. The Apple systems at the Belfast Campus in rooms BA-03-024 and 026 also run a Windows 10 (2016) Long Term Service Branch environment and applications software by way of a "dual-boot" configuration.

Some Windows and MacOS features have been restricted to ensure service provision.

Print, copy and scan services for PCs and Apple systems in SITL locations are supported by centrally managed Multi Function Devices distributed in key SITL areas.
