Ulster University student accommodation has once again been shortlisted in two categories of the National Student Housing Awards 2021 for ‘Best Booking Experience’ and ‘Best Moving In Experience’.

These awards are a chance for the sector to celebrate some of the extraordinary work that has been undertaken during a time of extreme pressure on students and staff.

The ‘Best Booking Experience’ and ‘Best Moving In’ Awards are now based on the ratings given by students in the Autumn wave of the  Global Student Living Index. The Autumn 2020 survey received over 12,000 responses, with Ulster University selected as one of the five finalists for this year's Best Booking Experience and Best Moving In Finalist Awards, based on the positive feedback provided by our student residents.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the university’s ResLife team has been offering a personalised wrap around service and support package for our residential students in accommodation, with protective measures and enhanced cleaning in place to support health, safety and wellbeing.

Despite the additional challenges presented by the pandemic, our students have been given a warm welcome when they arrive, helped to settle in and supported during their time with us, to ensure that they were given the opportunity to experience new things, meet new people and generate memories that will last a life time.

Gareth Kennedy, Head of Residential Services explains:

“The ResLife team have worked tirelessly throughout challenging circumstances over the last 12 months to support students within accommodation. It is encouraging that residents have recognised the lengths staff have gone to for their safety and overall student experience.

Last year we were named winner of the Best Moving In Experience Award and Finalist in the Best Booking Experience Award so it is a great honour to be finalists in both categories again, during what has been an extremely challenging year for the team, who have continued to offer our students the best residential experience possible.”

The annual National Student Housing Awards are based exclusively on direct feedback from over 50,000 students across 200 universities and colleges. With no written nominations and no ‘expert’ judges, the National Student Housing Awards are uniquely credible and highly prized.

Data for the awards are collected through the Global Student Living Index (UK & Ireland).
