Kerry Learns From Derry

8 July 2013

It was while working in the USA that Kerry Bryson first heard about Ulster’s Magee campus – and when she was choosing which university to study at, Magee was at the forefront of her mind.

Today, the Portsmouth woman and her family celebrate her achievement of an honours degree in Business Studies.

While studying at Magee, Kerry also signed up for the University’s EDGE programme, designed to enhance the employability of Ulster students by providing official recognition and evidence of activities outside their regular programme of study.

The EDGE award covers a wide range of career-enhancing activities, and aims to show future employers our commitment to developing personal skills. As part of her EDGE portfolio, Kerry carried out a work placement in Premier Inn, Portsmouth, as well as a 10-week tutoring placement in St Mary’s school, Derry, where she helped with art and home economics lessons.

Kerry has now signed up to study for a Masters degree in International Hotel & Tourism Management at the University of Ulster’s Belfast campus.
