Easter Eggstravaganza at Ulster Sports Centres

15 March 2010

A limited number of places are still available for the popular University of Ulster Easter Sports Camps at the University’s sports centres at Magee, Jordanstown and Coleraine.

The Sports Camps are aimed at youngsters aged from five upwards, aka Ulster Elks Juniors, and a full programme of sporting activities will be on offer at all three campus during the Easter break from April 1 to April 9.

Stephen Street, Acting Sports Development Manager at Magee says the Easter Sports Camps are open to children aged from five to 16 years:

“The focus will be keeping fit while having fun. This year’s programme which builds on the success of previous sports camps organised by the University, has been carefully drawn up to include the most popular activities in other years such as Gaelic football, soccer, multi-skills, athletics, volleyball and hockey.

“The children will get a chance to develop their skills or to try out a new sport. All activities will be fully supervised by qualified coaches and as Ulster Elks Juniors and children participating in sports camps will have access to the University’s first class sports facilities.

“Places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis so anyone interested in booking a place for their child should book early to avoid disappointment.”

Stephen adds that the fun for Elk Juniors does not have to end when they go back to school after the Easter break.

“The After Schools Club for Ulster Elks Juniors continues from April through to June and we have a full programme planned for the Sports Centres at all three campuses.”
