There is a double celebration for the Magee family today, as Nicole Magee graduates with a first class BSc honours degree in marketing.

It’s a double family celebration because last year, Nicole’s brother Craig also received a first class honours degree from the University of Ulster, BSc Hons in Property Investment and Development. Mum Sadie – who works at the university as Secretary to the Director of the Built Environment Research Institute – is over the moon that both her children have excelled in their studies.  

Sadie was widowed in 1996. Bringing up two young children as a single parent was no easy task, but her childrens’ education always came first. She was delighted that both her children chose to study at the University of Ulster: 

“Why leave home to study and run up debts when there are perfectly good degree courses close to home, where you can benefit from family support while you learn?” asked Sadie. 

After a well earned holiday Nicole hopes to secure a job in marketing, favouring events management as her speciality. Craig, who is now living in London, hopes to secure a graduate placement to enable him to obtain accreditation as a chartered surveyor. 

All three are attending the Waterfront Graduation ceremony.
