“Cinematic Arts at Magee is a first on the island of Ireland...”

Are you dreaming about making your own film? Or would you rather work on the set of Game of Thrones or Krypton? Then this course is the perfect match for you. Cinematic Art at Magee  is where you are expected to shoot create and edit films. Cinematic Arts is designed for future film/television directors, producers, screenwriters, cinematographers, editors and sound designers.

Are you a binge watcher of Netflix? House of Cards or Breaking Bad perhaps. Technology and the arts are experiencing a period of profound change. Central to this change is the way in which these previously unconnected areas of study are becoming evermore dependent on each other with respect to the creation and delivery of content for new digital media platforms. We train our student on the future of storytelling and filmmaking. Our curriculum and modules are designed for the future of cinematic storytelling, such as: web series, cinematography, VFX for film, directing screen performance, screenwriting and horror film practice.

We are based at the Magee campus within the School of Arts and Humanities and we aim to help you develop working methods in film and drama by drawing on a variety of creative and technological disciplines. Designed for students with a background or interest in moving image, you will be expected to develop connections with other fields during the course of your studies. Come and join us to be part of a young and dynamic team.
