Strandhill’s coast is changing, and this is an opportunity to be part of the conversation about what comes next. Join us at the National Surf Centre for a community workshop on coastal adaptation. The community workshop will bring people together to discuss the future of Strandhill’s coast. The session will introduce the CMAP project (Coastal Monitoring and Adaptation Planning) project and explore how local knowledge can help shape practical, place-based responses to coastal change.
The workshop is open to all – residents, visitors, businesses, and community groups are all welcome. Refreshments will be provided.
Participants will have the opportunity to share their views, map local priorities, and contribute ideas that will inform future activities and planning in Strandhill.
Strandhill is one of several communities involved in the CMAP project, a cross-border project aiming to better understand fragile beach and dune systems and plan for their future. Over the coming years, the project will bring together scientific research and local knowledge to co-design long-term, nature-based solutions for coastal resilience.
The CMAP project is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB), and co-funded by the European Union, the Government of Ireland, the Government of the United Kingdom, and the Northern Ireland Executive.
