Digital capability describes having the skills and attitudes to live, learn and work in a digital world. It is important to have the skills that employers want; the ability to select and use technology effectively; and the confidence to adapt to emerging technologies in the workplace. From your feedback over the last three years, you tell us that digital skills are important in your chosen career, as part of the national Jisc Digital Experience Insights survey.
The Jisc Discovery Tool allows you to reflect on; and develop your digital capabilities with your career aspirations in mind; covering aspects from digital creation to digital wellbeing. The tool provides a tailored report, identifying strengths and possible areas to improve. It is anonymous and takes approximately 20 minutes to create your report.
Select Ulster and login with your Ulster email and network password to initially set up your profile. You don’t need to be proficient in all areas, it’s a personal reflection, so consider what skills are most important to you in your chosen career. You can re-take at various points in your course to check progress. It can be useful to discuss digital skills with your colleagues and support networks, to share ideas, experiences and opportunities.
