Whether you’re walking through the city, cycling to one of our dedicated Cycle Hubs, or arriving by train or bus, there are plenty of convenient and sustainable ways to travel to campus.

On foot
Easily accessible on foot
The Belfast Campus is easily accessible on foot located in the north of the city centre.

By Bike
Cycling is an enjoyable and healthy way to get to campus.
The Belfast campus has 2 dedicated Cycle hubs with locker storage, showers and changing, and cycle parking.
Each Hub is access controlled and free to use.
Staff and students should register for access stating name and staff/student number by emailing Carparks at Ulster.
A Belfast Bike station is located next to the campus at Cathedral Gardens and connects you to 50 stations located around the city.

The Belfast Campus is well connected with rail, bus and coach services.

Ticketing
Are you 16-23 years old?
You can avail of the yLink Smartcard with up to 50% of bus and rail travel.
The mLink mobile ticketing app can be used to purchase tickets for:

- Goldliner services (within NI only)

Ticketing machine on campus
A Translink Ticketing machine is available in the Belfast Campus, Block BC foyer and you can purchase your metro tickets and top up your Smart card.

By Train
All train stations are close by
York Street
The closest station is the York Street station which is a 12-minute walk away.
There is free Metro bus transfer travel from York Street Train Station for passengers with a valid rail ticket, for travel to and from Belfast Campus and the City Centre, both on the U1 Bus Service and passing Metro scheduled services.
Lanyon
Lanyon train station is a 20-minute walk along the river side path.
Grand Central
Grand Central Station is an 18 minute walk or you can use the passing U1 and U2 bus services to connect to the campus.

By Bus
Well serviced with bus and coach services
The Belfast Campus is well serviced with local bus and regional coach services.
The U1 & U2 Bus Services operate during term time to get you to and from the Belfast Campus and Jordanstown.

By Car
A ‘car free’ campus
The Belfast campus is designated as a ‘car free’ campus and highly accessible by public transport and active travel.
Limited car parking is available for blue badge holders and others based on need.
