Key Membership Information
Ulster University Sport offers memberships for students, staff, alumni, senior citizens, families, and juniors. A valid ID is required to join. Members must complete an induction before using the fitness suite, with access permitted from age 16 (under 16s must be accompanied). Memberships can be paid monthly by recurring card payment or upfront, with monthly options requiring 14 days’ notice to cancel. Prices are reviewed annually.
Members should bring their card on each visit and follow our conduct, safety, and safeguarding rules. The University reserves the right to refuse or cancel memberships, and refunds are only available on medical grounds or within a 14-day cooling-off period. Planned closures are factored into pricing, and non-members can access facilities at standard rates.
We take your privacy seriously: your personal data is protected and will not be shared. From time to time, photography or filming may take place for marketing purposes, but you can opt out by contacting us. Our priority is to provide a safe, welcoming environment where everyone can enjoy sport and physical activity.

Recurring Card Payments – Monthly Membership
- By selecting a monthly recurring membership, you authorise Ulster University Sport to collect monthly membership fees automatically from your nominated payment card until you cancel or the agreement is otherwise terminated.
- Payment will be taken on or around the same calendar day each month, starting from the date of your initial purchase.
- It is your responsibility to ensure that sufficient funds are available and that your card details are valid and up to date. If a payment fails, the system will automatically retry up to three times within a 10-day period. Failed payments may result in a temporary suspension of access until payment is received.
- You may cancel your recurring membership at any time by providing a minimum of 14 days’ written notice before your next payment date. Notice must be sent to sport@ulster.ac.uk. Cancellations received after this deadline will take effect from the following month.
- No partial refunds will be issued for unused days within a month after payment has been taken.
- Membership remains valid until the end of the current paid period, after which access will be revoked unless a new payment is successfully processed.
- The University reserves the right to change the monthly fee by providing 30 days’ notice to the member. Continued use of the membership after the notice period will be deemed acceptance of the new fee.
- All other terms relating to conduct, access, cancellations, and data protection continue to apply to monthly recurring memberships.
