UKRI Open Calls
Each UKRI Research Council run a series of open calls which run continuously and are directed towards Researchers at various stages of their career. For more information, please refer to the UKRI Research Councils website.

Research Professional
Research Professional is an online database of research funding opportunities and a source of international research policy and practice news. You are free to browse the content of the site, create customised searches of its content and share this information with colleagues. All of the information you need to get up and running can be found in the 'Help Topics' sections to the right or by accessing the training video below.
Accessing Research Professional
There are two possible options for accessing Research Professional:
- Campus Access – This provides a quick and easy route to research professional’s database without the need to register. However, the features are limited. You CANNOT save searches but you can e-mail any search results to yourself or anyone who you think may be interested.
- Self-registration – This takes around 5 minutes to complete. The added benefit of registering is that you can set up e-mail alerts and save funding searches, which will automatically update. The Research Development Team is always on hand to assist with registration and to help you set-up your personalised funding searches.

Research Professional Magazines
Research Professional Magazines are created by the Research Development team on a monthly basis and are distributed through each Unit of Assessment’s Research Director. Each magazine contains a list of research funding opportunities which are tailored specifically for each Unit of Assessment. If you have not received a copy of the Magazine, please contact your Research Director or a member of the Research Development Team. Alternatively see below, the steps to access the Magazine for your UoA:
Log in - 'Our Institution' - 'See All Magazines' - choose your UoA - select the most recent issue.
