John Fay, Director of the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) will today receive the honorary degree of Doctor of Science (DSc) from the University of Ulster in recognition of his services to education in Northern Ireland.

Mr Fay has been Director of CAFRE since its formation in 2004.

Formerly principal of Greenmount College, he has contributed significantly to the development of CAFRE’s campuses at Loughry, Enniskillen and Greenmount, expanding the range of programmes on offer, and the range of work placements available to students.

John has provided 34 years of public service within the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development gaining a wide range of experience working with the agri-food industry to develop and deliver education, training, advisory and technology transfer programmes.
