Newcastle man Michael Nugent who runs Sucos Shake ‘n’ Juice on the town's Main Street, is celebrating today after graduating with a MSc in Marketing from the Ulster Business School at the Jordanstown campus.

Michael, who set up his own business in 2011, believes that his achievement has already benefitted his Brazilian themed juice and smoothie bar, and is helping him to succeed in a challenging business environment.

Michael said:

“After travelling to South America a few years ago, I saw a huge culture of healthy cafes and juice bars that really appealed to me as I had found it difficult to eat healthily on the move. I thought the concept would fit well back home in Northern Ireland.

“With a well-established family ice cream business, I saw an opportunity to combine traditional café menu with healthy options and give consumers more choice.

“The business has really grown since 2011, but I felt it was important to develop my business skills, particularly in relation to marketing. My Masters in Marketing will really support me as I work to grow the Sucos brand and seek new opportunities, including introducing franchising opportunities.”
