What is a hot locker?

Hot lockers are available in Belfast library and are located behind the self-service laptop loan cabinets.  These lockers can be borrowed for 24 hours and can be used to store and/or charge your devices.  A standard UK 3-pin plug socket is available in the locker, allowing you to charge your laptop, tablet or phone.  Chargers and charging cables are not supplied.

Who can borrow a hot locker?

All registered students in good standing with the Library.  You must have your valid student ID card with you to borrow a hot locker and to collect your device.

What are my responsibilities?

You must adhere to the following hot locker terms and conditions of use:

  • You must have a student ID card to borrow a hot locker, and to collect your device.
  • Hot lockers are for personal use only; you must not borrow one for someone else.
  • You must collect your device within the 24 hour period.
  • Standard UK 3-pin plug sockets are available inside each hot locker.
  • When charging, you must connect your own device’s adaptor to plug socket.
  • Only a single device can be charged inside each hot locker.
  • No other personal items can be stored inside the hot locker.
  • You must close hot locker securely upon placing personal device inside.

In the absence of any negligence or other breach of duty by us, we are not responsible for any theft, damage, destruction or loss of your personal property (including personal devices) while using our hot lockers.
