My eyes have been opened to a much wider world, I look at my everyday life differently and I’m much more grateful for everything I have.
Being given the opportunity to travel to India, experience the culture and forge relationships with Christ university was not something I expected when I joined Ulster University, as a mature student I wasn’t sure if I’d even be cut out for student life, but I was completely wrong and love every minute of it.
My eyes have been opened to a much wider world, I look at my everyday life differently and I’m much more grateful for everything I have.
India was a whole different world, but filled with beautiful people striving to make changes, from Christ universities incredible eco and recycling initiatives thriving on campus through to the amazing women changing the lives of some of the poorest families for a better future, India has taught me a lot.
Many friendships where made, 10 strangers in four campuses now have friends with shared experiences that others can only imagine, we lived it together, two universities made the first steps together resulting in students from thousands of miles apart having warm and joyful memories of times spent together, sharing thoughts about our experiences and the differences between our home countries.
Of course, these opportunities come on behalf of Ulster University and the mobility team, these are not short breaks, and these are life-changing trips that make us all grow for the better.
