Completing the Ulster Graduate Award offers you the opportunity to engage in a wide range of activities, including those available to all students and those more focused on specific courses and specialisms.
Students studying Law courses can engage in a range of additional, subject specific activities, co-ordinated by the School of Law that will support the development of applied knowledge skills and confidence.
Mooting, Mentoring and Training
This will involve instructing students about all the relevant elements of Mooting including the preparation of skeleton arguments, hearing bundles/booklets, proper forms of etiquette in Moot Courts, constructing persuasive arguments, honing arguments and persuading 'Judges'. It may also involve presiding over mock Moot Courts to ensure other students have the best opportunity to prepare for external competition.
Participants will acquire the skills of preparing material for delivery to peers; assessing the work of peers in a helpful manner in an extra-curricular environment. Participants will also develop organisational skills and develop their own capacity to learn as a result of 'being on the other side' of the learning/teaching divide.

Using Electronic Case Management Systems in Legal Practice
Electronic case management packages are increasingly common in legal practice. This training ensures that students become familiar with a file handling system that reduces processing time by allowing remote access, shared and simultaneous access. On completion of this activity students will know how to collate relevant documentation and data and access files and provide accurate and efficient electronic updates.
Students are required to upload an attendance note following client consultations and to ensure that documents received from respondent representatives are also uploaded and shared with their student colleague and case supervisor.
