The BAME+ Network Ambassador EDGE activity aims to establish a cohort of student champions to promote and raise awareness of the BAME+ Network.

Outline of Activity

Working together as one to aspire and inspire, the BAME+ Network seeks to identify, address and find solutions to the disparities, needs, priorities and concerns of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic staff and students, so that the BAME community in the University feel represented, appreciated and have equal opportunities.

As a BAME+ student ambassador, you will not only join a network which places equality diversity and inclusion at the heart of everything it does, with particular emphasis on integration, wellbeing and success of all members.

This activity encourages students to raise awareness of the Ulster BAME+ Network, to promote and embrace the community.

Ambassadors will be student volunteers creating and supporting student-led campaigns, promoting the BAME+ Network at Ulster University, growing the message of the community as widely as possible, and encouraging greater student engagement to join the Network.

Students can use their creativity skills and freedom to research and explore on pertinent topics surrounding the BAME community and establish methods of their choice to promote their own ‘mini’ campaign. A proposal like output will allow students to think creatively and develop deeper understanding on some of the current affairs surrounding the BAME community.

By creating campaign like materials under your name to share and motivate others, students can raise their own profile and CV. Additionally, materials developed through this EDGE activity could be selected and published on the Network’s social media channels, webpages and marketing materials giving the students the exposure to create work that will be seen by many.
