Santander Business Continuity & Recovery Fund

Twenty-eight graduates awarded £1,000 each by Santander Universities to help them during the pandemic.

A fund from Santander Universities has helped recent Ulster University graduates who are self-employed to navigate their way through the turbulent Covid-19 pandemic. The Santander Universities Business Continuity and Recovery Fund is designed for Ulster University graduates who have started out on their own in the past year, with 28 graduates being awarded £1,000 each.

The grant is helping those not eligible for the government’s support for the self-employed. Funds may be used at the discretion of the recipient for business purposes but must be directed towards ensuring that the recipient’s enterprise is able to survive the current crisis. This might include general living, continuity and recovery, or emergency hardship due to lack of trading.

Following the success of this fund, Santander Universities has provided £25k of further funding to Ulster University as part of their support for Covid-19 for universities to support students in the process of setting up their own enterprise.
