Its first product, SolaCatcher, is a new revolutionary, cost effective, solar water heating system, designed specifically for pre-heating domestic water. The patented system is easily installed and has the potential to improve on the cost-effectiveness of traditional forms of solar water heating already in use.

Vifkon was set up in 2013 as a spin out from Ulster University to commercialise fire and blast protection systems (FBPS) based on VifkoBlast a novel patented composite lightweight concrete material.
VifkoBlast can be used to create inexpensive low density structures giving outstanding fire and blast protection.
The company's business strategy is to design and develop and modular blast and fire proof structures for use where low weight is critical.
Research and development programme includes joint work with the university on improving the VifkoBlast materials system and confirming its long term stability.
