Future Jobs & Opportunities Week

Future Jobs & Opportunities Week, hosted by Ulster University in conjunction with Handshake is a programme of Virtual Careers Fairs, Employer Insights & skills boosting activities for our students and graduates.

These virtual events will support all students and graduates boost their skills, in addition, they will assist those who are transitioning into the workplace, either placement or graduate opportunities, at a time of transformational change across all sectors and job roles.

Future Jobs & Opportunities week, will take place from Monday 11th to Thursday 14th October 2021

  • Monday 11th to Thursday 14th October - Skills Boosting Programme
  • Tuesday 12th October - Graduate Virtual Fair (All Disciplines)
  • Wednesday 13th & Thursday 14th October  - Placement & Internship Virtual Fairs

This year Placement & Internship Virtual Fairs will be run over 2 Days and has been arranged by the area in which you study.

  1. Computing, Engineering & Construction Disciplines - 13th October 2021 (1pm - 5pm)
  2. All Disciplines - 14th October 2021 (1pm - 5pm)

  1. Make sure your Handshake profile is complete. Data clearly shows that if your profile is complete you have a much better chance of an employer reaching out to you about opportunities.
  2. Follow employers of interest. Search for employers that interest you or find employers that advertise opportunities of interest. Following them means you will receive a notification when new opportunities are advertised.
  3. Download the Handshake mobile app. Don't just limit your search to when you are using your computer. Download the Handshake app on your mobile device and browse opportunities regularly.
  4. Seek advice from Employability & Careers to help you get the most out of the Handshake platform. We can help you improve your profile and find employers to follow.
