Are you are a recent UU graduate (Class of 2020 or 2021) or do you know someone who is?  Don't miss out!  Applications for the Department of Economy funded Graduate Leadership Programme are closing very soon - 5pm on Friday 10th September.

The programme is specifically designed to support recent graduates from all disciplines resident in NI. It combines a work-based internship with a fully-funded Postgraduate Certificate in Leadership. Graduate interns are paid £1,100 per month during a 6-month Internship starting on 4th October 2021.

Last year Brandon Hemphill graduated with a BSc Hons in Business Studies from Ulster and successfully secured a place on the Graduate Leadership Programme.  He started his internship with Manufacturing & Engineering Growth & Advancement (MEGA), a collaborative network of Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering companies working together to address the skills shortages and employability issues facing the sector.

Brandon said:

I took on the role as Operations Officer at MEGA in Mid-Ulster and the whole experience took me by storm. It has been incredible so far, as I have been able to collaborate with the Project Director on internal projects/initiatives that involve different aspects of the network, liaise with Chairs of MEGA's four sub-Committees to assist with the delivery of strategic objectives and help coordinate network activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to network policies.

To other graduates that find themselves in a similar situation as myself, I would say don't think twice about it, grab the opportunity with both hands.  You will see immediately that you have made the right choice because you will be lucky enough to get fantastic experience to add to your CV, you will learn more about yourself and will develop new skills by working alongside a leadership mentor, whilst tackling the impact of Covid-19 and supporting businesses recovery.

The programme is for 2020 or 2021 graduates who are ordinarily resident and are eligible to work in Northern Ireland and have yet to secure graduate level employment. There are only 30 internships available so don't miss out!
