The purpose of this short course is to provide managers and leaders with a strong understanding and foundation in data analytics and visualisation approaches for business.
There is an increasing use of data for business. Data analytics has a central and important role in this, as it provides organisations and firms with the statistical insights into their data and provides evidence for business decision making.
Businesses are increasingly required to use data to inform their evidence-based decisions around their digital transformation strategies, products, services, company, and customer needs. Studying this module will help leaders and managers build digital dashboards for their organisations and therefore facilitate better, data driven and informed decisions.
With evolving business approaches and technologies, the role of data analytics and understanding of the subject area is becoming central to future of work agenda.
As part of this course, you will build your own digital dashboard and business insights report, this experience can be used for your own business or organisation.
Attendance
This course has 4 online classes consisting of three hours each, in addition participants will be required to carry out pipeline research, watch pre-recorded video, prepare for classes, carry out guided reading as well as complete a written assignment.

This course is delivered fully online, starting 04 November 2025, with no on campus attendance requirements.

Career options
Students will be able to use the knowledge on this course to build a digital dashboard for their organisation.
The skills learned on this course are transferrable to a number of organisations, sectors and roles. Students may wish to study other masters level courses which could lead to a Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma or Masters degree.
Teaching, Learning and Assessment
The course is assessed via 100% coursework. Participants will hand in a practical individual assignment which asks students to build their own digital dashboard.

Entry requirements
You should hold a Second-Class Honours Degree or better OR have significant managerial / business experience.
Eligibility
Places are limited and open to applicants who:
- are 18 or over at the point of enrolment;
- have a right to work and undertake training in the UK at the point of application and for the duration of the course and must not be disqualified from doing either by reason of their immigration status.
