Introduction

PURE is an abbreviation of 'Publication and Research' and is a single source location for all research information in the University.  It facilitates an evidence-based approach to research and collaboration strategies, assessment exercises and day-to-day business decisions.

PURE aggregates organisations research information from numerous internal and external sources, and ensures the data that drives strategic decision is trusted, comprehensive and accessible in real time. A highly versatile centralised system, it enables our Institution to build reports, carry out performance assessments, manage researcher profiles, enable research networking and expertise discovery and more, all while reducing administrative burden for researchers, faculty and staff.

PURE provides functionality for academics, research staff and PhD Researchers to manage their individual research profile by recording research outcomes, such as:

  • Research Outputs/Publications
  • Activities
  • Press & Media
  • Projects/Awards
  • Datasets
  • Impacts

PURE sources data via synchronisations from core systems eg CoreHR, thereby ensuring the automatic update of core research information on individual profiles.

PURE is designed to maintain an ongoing historical record of research activity at Ulster University. This means that data about members of staff and their research outputs, projects and activities will be retained in PURE after they have left the University.

All members of staff in academic and research related posts, and PhD Researchers, are provided with PURE profiles when joining Ulster University.

Support materials are available to download from the Support Materials webpage, or you can access it from this link.
