Professor of Coastal Studies, School of Geography & Environmental Sciences
Professor Cooper has an outstanding international track record in the field of coastal research and is recognised as an international leader in the field conducting cutting edge research on the geomorphic behaviour of coastal systems. In 2018, he was identified in the top 10 researchers in the world in the field of coastal management in the past 40 years.

Professor Raymond Bond
Professor of Human Computer Systems, School of Computing
Professor Bond has made significant contributions to digital health research including the application of machine learning algorithms to healthcare datasets and the design of digital interventions. Professor Bond has been responsive to the COVID-19 pandemic and is a member of a COVID modelling group that informed key modelling decision-making in the Department of Health.

Dr Joe Rafferty was appointed Lecturer in the School of Computing in 2018. His research has focused on the Internet of Things (IoT), scalable computing infrastructure/architecture, ambient assisted living, data analytics, machine learning, system security and resilient self-organising systems.
