I wish to speak to my Student Success Advisor

Please note that the Student Success email address and appointment booking system is no longer operational and we ask that you contact onlineacademy@ulster.ac.uk or log your query

What can my Course Director help with?

Your Course Director can help you with the following:

  • Academic questions
  • If you wish to submit an Extenuating Circumstance Form
  • Considering withdrawal from your programme
  • If you would like to take a Leave of Absence
  • Questions regarding your modules, marks or your student journey

I have missed my payment deadline. What are my options?

If you have missed your payment deadline and have an exceptional reason for having done so, please contact onlineacademy@ulster.ac.uk or speak to your Course Director. Late entry to modules has a number of consequences which need to be considered on an individual case.  If you have enrolled late onto a module, this will need approval. Failure to acquire approval may result in your removal from that particular module and you will have to wait to join again at the next opportunity on the carousel.

Where can I find the Online Enrolment link?

Please note that online enrolment cannot be completed whilst on an opt-out or during a LOA. You must complete an Opt-in form in the week leading up to the payment deadline of your next module in order to get your programme registration code changed to allow enrolment. Please ensure you have the correct CRNS for your student journey in the correct teaching periods. If you need advice on what modules you still need to complete in your student journey, please contact your Course Director.

Who do i contact when I am having problems enrolling on my module?

If you are encountering problems whilst enrolling on your next module / modules, please contact the Registry team at global.online@ulster.ac.uk with a screenshot of the issue where possible.

I think I am on the wrong module, can you help?

Please double check with your course director or email onlineacademy@ulster.ac.uk for advice. A member of staff will need to submit a module amendment form on your behalf.

I am not sure whether I need to opt out or take a leave of absence?

An opt-out is an informal period of leave, for up to 3 consecutive teaching periods (45 credits). An opt-out is only available to students on our carousel module programmes. Students can opt out of their upcoming module around 7 days before its start date (please see our key dates). If a student opts out of 3 consecutive teaching periods and are not ready to return, they would then be moved on to a Leave of Absence. A student on an opt-out is permitted to take any reassessments which they have pending.

A Leave of Absence (LOA) is a formal break from a student’s studies. A Leave of Absence constitutes a break in study for 3 or more consecutive teaching periods. When on a Leave of Absence break students are not permitted to participate in any reassessments. An LOA can be requested for up to one year and any extensions to this (up to one additional year) must be requested at the end of the first year of LOA.

I wish to withdraw from my studies. How should I proceed?

Please contact your course director and they will provide advice and support you through the process.

I took a break from study and am unsure which modules I can go on next?

Please contact your course director and they will be able to tell you which modules you still need to complete.

I have questions about my module and its content/delivery?

Please contact your module coordinator linked to the module in Blackboard.

I was opted out but I didn’t ask to be?

If you missed your payment deadline and did not engage with online enrolment or did not complete your payment during enrolment, you may have automatically been moved to an opt out. Please contact global.online@ulster.ac.uk for further advice.

When do I tell you I want to return from a break?

Please use the key dates and see the opt in/return from break date for the next approaching teaching period and submit an opt-in form to Registry around this time.

I am not happy, I wish to make a complaint

We are sorry to hear this. In the first instance, please make contact with you Course Director to discuss your issues. If you feel your issues have not been addressed, please find more information on your options.
