Curriculum Archive and Syllabus Information Requests

The Centre for Curriculum Enhancement and Approval (CCEA) maintains the official course record for each University-approved programme and undergraduate Honours subject. These records are archived once a programme has been formally discontinued and all students have completed their studies.

Retention of Archived Programme Files

  • Archived records typically include:
    • Original course proposals
    • Final validated programme documents
    • Approved revisions
    • Relevant academic correspondence

Please note: routine operational correspondence is removed before archiving.

Who Can Request Archived Programme Information?

We provide archive access to:

  • University staff
  • Former students of the University
    – May request syllabus information (see below)

We do not provide archive access to:

  • Associate students of partner, affiliate, or collaborative institutions
  • Students who studied at Further Education (FE) Colleges
  • Individuals requesting information on behalf of someone else (unless formally authorised)

Please note: if you studied at an external institution or as part of a collaborative arrangement, please contact the institution where you studied directly

Syllabus Information Requests (For Programmes Completed Within the last 10 Years)

We can only provide syllabus information for programmes completed within the past 10 years.

To make a request:

  • Submit a Syllabus Request Form
  • A £70.00 fee per course applies for each successful request and includes a copy of your official University transcript
  • Additional fees may apply for complex or multi-course requests

Please note: This service is offered on a best endeavours basis. We cannot guarantee that all information will be available.

Payment Process

  1. Once your request is processed and confirmed, you will receive an email with instructions for payment via the University’s Online Store
  2. After payment is received, the requested information will be sent to you electronically by email.

Need a Transcript or Certificate Instead?

For:

  • Academic transcripts
  • Duplicate transcripts
  • Replacement parchments

Please contact your campus Examinations Office directly. These are handled separately from the Syllabus Request service. Award Certificates, Transcripts and Diploma Supplements

Can I request syllabus information for a programme I completed more than 10 years ago?

Unfortunately, no. We only offer syllabus searches for programmes completed within the past 10 years.

Can I get detailed assessment information or module content?

Course documents vary. We will provide all available information, but detail may differ depending on the programme and year.

Can someone else request the information on my behalf?

Yes, but only with formal written consent. Without this, we can only correspond directly with the former student.
