The Academic Standards & Quality Enhancement Committee, through the Learning Enhancement Directorate and its Centres, keeps under review academic governance arrangements related to taught programmes of study and the student experience. This authority is derived from the University's Charter, Statutes, Ordinances and General Regulations, and delegated from Senate per the University's Delegated Authority Framework.
In June 2024, Senate approved a standardised set of regulations for all taught programmes effective from the September of academic year 2024/25 onwards. These updated Regulations can be found below. Previous programme regulations can be accessed in programme handbooks prior to 2024/25.
Individual cases to depart from these Regulations are considered by the Regulations Sub-Committee of the Academic Standards and Quality Enhancement Committee. In cases where there may be a discrepancy between previously approved programme specifications and the current version of the University's Regulations for Taught Programmes, the Regulations take precedence, unless a departure has been approved by the Regulations Sub-Committee.
