Mark Reber
Police Accountability: Northern Ireland Lessons and Global Perspectives

Drawing upon extensive international policing experience, this Visiting Professor Lecture by Mark Reber will consider a wide range of global perspectives related to the oversight and governance of police organisations. Having worked in a multitude of roles, not limited to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), An Garda Siochana Inspectorate, Office of the Oversight Commission for Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Policing Board, Mark has an un-paralleled knowledge of how police bodies are overseen, along with the importance of that within the context of police reform and transition.

The lecture will further consider some of the lessons to be derived from the efforts at police oversight in Northern Ireland, especially when compared to other regions in which Mark has worked, including North America, the Middle East and Africa.
