Internships, placements and other forms of work experience can count towards your Ulster Graduate Award journey
Work experience completed through part time work, internships and placements are key experiences for your employability journey and you can use these experiences to secure Ulster Graduate Award recognition. Explore the information below to understand how to submit evidence for relevant work experiences including year long placement, internships and part time work.
If you are completing a year long placement as part of your course, this will count as one of your two activities for your Ulster Graduate Award. All you need to do is provide relevant details in your final application for the Ulster Graduate Award. This will allow us to verify the completion of your placement and confirm this as one of your two activities.
Internships are shorter placements usually lasting somewhere between 2-12 weeks. Students often complete these during the summer during their course and either secure them via advertised opportunities or by making direct approaches to companies or contacts. If you have completed an internship you can submit information so that this internship can count as one of your Ulster Graduate Award activities.
Part time jobs are a key experience and help you develop skills, grow confidence and understand key work behaviours and employer expectations. Through the Ulster Graduate Award we have developed the 'Work Experience Skills Builder' activity as a way of helping you recognise and value your part time work experience. By completing it, you will achieve one of your Ulster Graduate Award activities.
