Volunteering has so many benefits

Volunteering is a great way of developing new skills, boosting confidence and building new networks and connections. Potential employers also see it as a sign of your motivation and commitment to supporting others as well as demonstrating a personal motivation to develop new skills and experiences.

In this section you will find information on how you can access volunteering opportunities and how you can secure recognition for your volunteering efforts through the Ulster Graduate Award.

Securing Ulster Graduate Award recognition

If you are already volunteering then you can go ahead and submit information that will allow us to verify your volunteering and confirm this as an activity towards your Ulster Graduate Award. Your volunteering experience can come from a wide range of roles and experiences from sports coaching to supporting sustainability initiatives and everything in between.

If you are seeking volunteering opportunities then check out the Be Collective platform via UUSU or  Volunteer Now.

To secure an Ulster Graduate Award activity you will need to evidence:

  • A minimum of 10 hours volunteering experience by providing a log of your activities using this template as a guide, AND
  • Confirmation from your volunteering organisation OR photographic evidence of your experience.
