Join an evening of discussion and debate about the human rights linkages within the world of Harry Potter. Perfect for hard core Potterheads and muggles alike.

The speakers are Kevin Hanratty, Claire Kemp, Amanda Finch and Danielle Gallagher. Kevin is giving an overview of the topic, Claire is addressing the failure of Harry Potter’s world to apply/live by the Convention on the Rights of the Child, Amanda is looking at the failed pedagogy of Hogwarts, and Danielle will be discussing the human rights issues to be found in the Ministry of Magic, with a particular focus on a) the lack of due process in criminal trials, and b) the use of cruel and unusual punishment in the form of imprisonment in Azkaban.
