Key highlights include
GeoTopics 2025 will focus on worked examples of sustainable fieldwork at Key Stage 3. Dr Lindsey Finch (PGCE Geography Course Director) will give an overview of sustainable fieldwork. Guest speakers from schools across Northern Ireland will present fieldwork examples that are tried and tested with their classes. A practical session will also be delivered based on creating Esri StoryMaps. This is an excellent opportunity for teachers to network while gaining a CPD certificate. A complimentary take-away resource pack will be provided. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
Targeted / promoted to schools, particularly targeting Geography subject teachers. Please note that career teachers and career advisers are also very welcome.
This free half day course will present teachers with an overview of fieldwork with worked examples from teachers. Free GIS websites will demonstrate opportunities for collating and presenting information collected on fieldwork. GeoTopics also provides an opportunity for teachers to network with one another and Ulster University staff.
We believe that this course will save teachers time, provide ideas and resources to take back to the classroom, and above all help teachers to do what we all want to do: to give pupils the best possible education in Geography!
We hope to see you there!
