The lighting feature
Ulster University’s campuses comprise some of the most iconic buildings in Northern Ireland. Our Derry~Londonderry, Coleraine and Belfast campuses all have, alongside essential operational lighting, an external lighting system which allows certain buildings to be lit in a single (including blackout) or multi-colour wash.
This lighting feature has the potential to enhance spaces and allow the University to recognise important occasions and participate in celebrations and commemorations with the wider community.
Ulster University is committed to increasing our impact on society and playing our part as a university which addresses both regional and global challenges. One way we can do this, is through illuminating our campus buildings across the region to raise awareness of key issues and campaigns.
We will be lighting up our campus buildings for the following occasions each year:
Date | Observance | Colour |

8 March | International Women’s Day | Purple |
17 March | St Patrick’s Day | Green |
