Inclusive
"We aim to design, deliver and assess our provision as inclusively as we can.
Where we have choice, we select inclusivity."
Inclusion is one of Ulster University’s core values, and inclusive practice that supports an increasingly diverse student population is one of the university’s foundational Principles for learning, teaching and student experience.
One way to enact more inclusive practice is to design more accessible digital content. The following new resources, released in 2026, can support you in making sure that your curriculum, teaching and learning content is more accessible and flexible to cater to diverse student needs and preferences.
Digital Accessibility: The Foundations
A short online course to introduce key concepts around digital accessibility, designed by JISC in partnership with Learning Enhancement and the EDI team at Ulster (available on Ulster's EVOLVE platform).
Digital Accessibility in the Curriculum
A microsite designed by Learning Enhancement to support you to create different types of accessible digital content. The site provides detailed guidance on accessible formats and other useful tools such as Blackboard Ally to support accessible digital practice.
You might also find it useful to join Ulster's EDI in the Curriculum Community of Practice to connect with colleagues across the university who are interested in inclusive practice.
