The Centre for Digital Healthcare Technology (CDHT) is a pioneering project with £42.9m investment aimed at transforming healthcare through cutting-edge digital solutions.

Located beside Ulster University Belfast, CDHT is a world-class hub where academia, industry, and clinicians collaborate to accelerate the development of medical devices and diagnostics. By using clinical research, data analytics, and innovative technology, CDHT addresses the pressing challenges of an ageing population and the increasing demand on healthcare services. The project promises substantial economic benefits to the region, including the creation of 1240 jobs.

Cognitive Analytics and Digital Robotics Innovation Centre (CADRIC)

Cognitive Analytics and Digital Robotics Innovation Centre (CADRIC) is a £39m project, which includes the establishment of a new purpose built facility to provide infrastructure, equipment and dedicated staff for the Cognitive Analytics Research Laboratory and (CARL) and the Centre for Industrial Digitalisation and Robotics Automation (CIDRA) Innovation centres of excellence.

CADRIC will support the delivery of a skills and talent pipeline, with world leading excellence in Research & Development & Innovation and will generate world-leading research outputs that help attract significant Foreign Direct Investment and build new collaborative innovation partnerships.

CADRIC will support inclusive economic growth, including the creation of new jobs and will help establish the Derry City & Strabane District region as one of the best places in the world to design, develop and launch innovative services and products relating to subjects such as bio-inspired AI and Cognitive Robotics.

Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre (AMIC)

The Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre (AMIC) is a £100m investment under Belfast Region City Deal is key to an exciting future for manufacturing in Northern Ireland. This industry-led, open-access manufacturing and engineering innovation centre with state-of-the-art facilities is being delivered by Queen’s University Belfast in partnership with Ulster University,  Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, industry, and supported by the UK Government and NI Executive.

This 10,500m2 state-of-the-art Factory of the Future is set to open at Global Point Business Park in Newtownabbey in 2026. Designed for industry, the open access manufacturing and engineering innovation centre will reinvigorate Northern Ireland’s industrial potential and address the future technology and skills challenges faced by the region’s manufacturing sector.

It will provide a specialised environment for advanced manufacturing, materials, and engineering sectors to access the latest digital, automation and robotics technology supported by experienced engineers, bringing industrial expertise.

With core capabilities in digitalising manufacturing, smart design, sustainable polymers and composites and smart nanotech, we are driving industrial transformation, paving the way for future technologies and competing globally with a more sustainable focus.
