She is an affiliate of the Program on the Prevention of Mass Violence at George Mason University’s Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution.

A trained mediator with Mediation Northern Ireland and a Peacebuilding Advisor for DT-Global's program in Sudan, she completes her International Peace Studies PhD at Trinity College Dublin this year.

Eilish Rooney is scholar emeritus at TJI, Ulster. Along with Irene Sherry at Ashton’s Bridge of Hope, and with activists from the loyalist and republican ex-prisoner community, she designed and delivered TJI’s Transitional Justice Grassroots Toolkit Programme.

The conversation will invite audience participation around why TJI’s grassroots toolkit is valuable for local activism and international peace building; consider how the toolkit works; what grassroots toolkits can achieve; and how to adapt them to different contexts.
