Advice for students Summer 2026
1. Check your EDGE activities are recorded
As you come to the final stages of your EDGE Award the first thing you need to do is check which activities are recorded on your EDGE Award record.

2. Your Final Application
Once you have all your completed activities recorded the final stage is for you to complete a short final application.
Final Application to be completed in your final semester
The final stage of your EDGE / EDGE Excel Award is a short final application. Please note that you must complete this to achieve your EDGE / EDGE Excel Award. This short application covers 3 purposes:
- You will provide the list of completed EDGE activities which means we can then check and verify the completion of your Award
- You will rate your skills development based on the activities you have completed
- You will provide us with any recommendations that will help us improve the EDGE Award
The final application deadline for Summer 2026 graduates is 8 May but you can submit your application any time before 8 May
The final application deadline for Winter 2026 graduates is 23 October but you can submit your application any time before 23 Ocotober
EDGE Excel Award Student of the Year 2026
If you are an undergraduate students completing the Ulster EDGE Excel Award you could be our EDGE Excel Student of the Year 2025/26! To win this prestigious award you need to nominate yourself via a short video submission talking about your EDGE Excel journey and how you have developed your Ulster Graduate Attributes. Information sessions will take place in the first few weeks of Semester 2 so keep an eye on our events listing.

Have you completed an activity that you think could count for your Ulster EDGE / EDGE Excel Award? Firstly check our list of activities to see what kind of evidence you need to provide and then use our handy submission form, providing evidence of your experience. We will then review it and get back to you.

The following EDGE activities are ideal for finalists as they can be done in a short period of time and help you with your career planning
This activity will support you to reflect on the skills you are developing in your part time job. By being more self aware of skills and achievements in your part time work you will become better prepared to discuss these experiences when applying for new opportunities.
This self directed activity can be done in your own time. Engage with our digital tools to help you get ready for your graduate job search and get EDGE accreditation for your updated CV, completed LinkedIn profile and improved interview skills.
