As a graduate, friend or supporter, we are asking you to become an ambassador for the University and help us spread the word that Ulster is still the number one choice for learning and student experience, despite the restrictions that will remain in place due to COVID-19.

Our colleagues across the University are busy putting plans in place for the new academic year and for welcoming our new and current students on Monday 21 September.

Admissions and Clearing

As the admissions cycle continues, applicants still have time to make or adjust their choices, right through to the point of receiving results and clearing in August. Ulster University is here to advise and support applicants every step of the way.

Students who received unconditional offers for courses have now been guaranteed their place where appropriate and all those holding a conditional offer will receive confirmation of their place if they meet the entry requirements following the issuing of A Level grades on Thursday 13 August. Clearing has now opened to help those still exploring their options to make a decision on their future study options and from 13 August onwards, applicants and potential applicants will be able to contact Ulster via email, call centre or enquiry form to discuss their current application or explore opportunities.

For further information, visit the Admissions website.

Academic Year 20/21

For those starting at Ulster this September, the University understands it may not be the start to university life that our students had anticipated but we want to assure them that we are doing all in our power to make it the best student experience possible. Our new intake of students will be joining a vibrant university community and will be fully supported as they settle in.

Our track record in digital learning means that students will continue to receive a high-quality learning and student experience. We will be providing early opportunities for them to experience our extensive and innovative online platforms. We also appreciate that students coming to study with us will be looking forward to meeting new people and forming new friendships, and so we’re also working closely with our Students’ Union to explore ways to enable students to participate in other aspects of university life.

Virtual Open Day

The University will host its first ever undergraduate virtual open day on Saturday 5 September.

After a warm welcome from Ulster alumni and Cool FM presenters Pete Snodden and Rebecca McKinney, there will be an action-packed day of expert talks, live webinars, virtual tours, discussion panels and Q&As. Students will hear from staff and current students about our world-class campuses, industry-led courses, the UU student experience, placements & careers, fees & finance, accommodation, wellbeing and so much more.

So if you or someone you know is interested in exploring what options are available at Ulster, register now to gain exclusive access and be in with a chance of winning a top prize.

Returning Students

Despite the challenges presented by the ongoing restrictions, we will continue to make it possible for our students to engage in their programme of study in the most meaningful and effective ways. We have consulted in depth with students in recent months in order to refine our online provision further as we prepare for the incoming year.

We know that meeting up with fellow students is such an important part of student life at Ulster, and we continue to work closely with our Students’ Union to explore ways to enable all students to participate in other aspects of University life aside from their studies.

As we re-imagine University life alongside this pandemic, it is our promise that students can look forward to a vibrant, inspiring and productive time, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Ulster. Keep an eye out for more updates on the new 20/21 academic year.
