Ulster University Sport are delighted to offer our graduates an exclusive discount to take part in Belfast 5km and mile road race.
There are a number of different race options to choose from, so there's something for everyone, regardless previous experience or ability. You can also expect food, music and entertainment throughout race day to create a fun atmosphere and ensure everyone has a great experience. Grab your friends or family and come along on Sunday, 9 June 2024 to take part in the fun!
Mass 5km Race
The main race event will be the mass 5km road race. This Belfast 5km course is one of the fastest road courses in the world. The route is essentially flat, and takes you through the centre of Belfast. You’ll start at Ulster University, before heading across the Lagan to the Titanic Quarter, getting a glimpse of the Harland and Wolff cranes. The route back across the river heads through the Cathedral Quarter to the finish line.
The race is co-organised by one of our very own graduates and decorated athlete, James McIlroy BEM. Ulster University are a proud partner of the event alongside Healthy Kidz, a local charity providing health and wellbeing initiatives to children throughout Northern Ireland.
How to claim my alumni discount?
On the online registration form you will be asked if you are a student or graduate of Ulster University. Select 'graduate' and enter your 'B' number.
The early bird race entry price is £20 until 30 April 2024. After that, the fee will increase to £22. Your alumni discount will give you 10% off the entry fee at the time of registration. Fees include race entry, finishers t-shirt & medal.
