Thinking of incorporating Open Research concepts into your taught research practice/methods modules?

An essential step in achieving an open research culture is to embed open research principles into undergraduate and postgraduate research training.  If you would like some pointers in getting started in this process, the list below contains some ideas, slides, lesson plans and other resources.

Open Research in the classroom:   Open Research in the Classroom is an initiative aiming to introduce secondary school and undergraduate students to concepts related to open and reproducible research.  The resources can be accessed via the project website and the project OSF page and are shared using Creative Commons by Attribution (CC-BY) licenses.

FORRT lesson plans: FORRT is a Framework for Open and Reproducible Research Training and the community advocates for the integration of open and reproducible science into higher education.  FORRT’s community has built open educational resources that can be integrated into taught courses ‘out of the box’.

PaPOR TraIL (Principles and Practices of Open Research): PaPOR TRaIL is a free course on open research for students. It has been developed by academic, research and library staff in University College Cork, National University of Ireland Galway, and University of Limerick, with input and guidance from university students and research supervisors. It is a self-paced online course that will provide students with training and education in open research. Course materials can be found at the course OSF page and the course content is offered under a CC-BY attribution licence.
