This month for #ResearchHour we are highlighting some of our Early Career Researchers at Ulster University. We can’t wait to see how their research journey will progress in 2024.
Meet our Early Career Researchers, that are carrying out research that touches on all aspects of the Ulster University Research Strategy 2023 - 2028.
Dr Abbie Cahoon's research focus is mathematical development in early childhood.
Abbie continues to investigate child development cross-culturally, working towards the Sustainable Development Goals of Quality Education and Reduced Inequalities.
Dr Jeff Hanna is a former finalist in the #3MT.
His research focuses on cancer care. Jeff uses a mixed-methods approach to evaluate a face-to-face, evidence-based and theory driven educational intervention.
Dr Sarah Butter is a Lecturer in Psychology, completing her PhD at Ulster in 2019.
Her primary research interest is in mental health, particularly psychosis, and understanding the role of trauma, social adversity and negative self-referential processes.
Dr Conor Heffernan is a Lecturer in Sociology.
Conor’s research interest is sport, and he will also be running an event as part of the NI Science Festival 2024, based around the history of strongmen and women.
