Intended audience:
This is a beginners' guide and will be of particular interest to those Research Staff who identify as Early Career Researchers. The session is open to colleagues who are from computing and non-computing backgrounds.
Course overview
In this workshop, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the Northern Ireland High-performance Computing (NI-HPC) cluster and practical skills that can immediately benefit your research, regardless of your computing background.
We will guide you on the resources available and how to access and utilise the cluster to accelerate your simulations or experiments. Moreover, we will share valuable recommendations on efficiently utilising the cluster resources, which can significantly enhance your productivity and scientific outcomes.
You will also see simple programming examples in popular scientific languages such as Matlab, R, and Python, as well as instructions on installing packages and setting up the environment for these tools in the NI-HPC system.
By the end of this workshop, you will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to use the NI-HPC resources to enhance your research.
