Rare Diseases
Rare diseases affect around 110,000 people in Northern Ireland. At Ulster University, we work with national and international charities, including the Northern Ireland Rare Disease Partnership, with the vision that no one is disadvantaged because of the rarity of their condition.

Our Aim
Our Ulster-RARE (Ulster University Alliance against Rare Diseases) research teams at Ulster University aim to understand rare diseases through our expert knowledge, research, and first-class facilities, with the goal to improve the quality of life, treatment and care for those impacted by rare diseases in Northern Ireland.
