“It was one of the best and most inspiring weeks of my life!“
Activities
Throughout the week we were immersed in the beauty and challenges of Johannesburg, and we worked alongside students from the University of Johannesburg to work on our pitch for the challenge of "How can our cities overcome crisis' by advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals?"
Experiencing new culture
We were introduced to different organisations working across a range of sectors including education, health, energy, environment, government, business and police. These immersions were honest and open and gave valuable insight into how these organisations are working to overcome complex issues.
Meeting new people
This highly immersive and experimental week pushed us to work collaboratively with people from different parts of the world, with different degree backgrounds and from different cultures - learning from the unique perspectives and lived experiences of others has been invaluable.
It was truly inspiring to see how a group of individuals from different backgrounds and cultures can come together with a ‘Common Purpose’.
