Invoking Action and Empathy for the Planet: A Writing for the Earth Conference

Join us for an inspiring event at Ulster University, York Street, Belfast, UK, where we will come together to explore the power of writing, marine biology, environmental sciences, media, art and geography in fostering action and empathy for our beloved planet. This in-person conference will bring together renowned writers, environmental activists, and passionate individuals like you, who are eager to make a difference.

It is the aim of our conference to facilitate the intersection of cutting-edge literary and scientific research into the Anthropocene, the Climate Crisis, Climate Change, sustainability, and much more. 'Action' and 'Empathy' are not polar opposites, suggesting that the sciences can harness empathy to inform strategies for promoting biodiversity, safeguarding vulnerable elements of nature, and potentially devising approaches to counteract environmental devastation.
