Introduction to Learning & Teaching at Ulster for Postgraduate Teaching Assistants (PgTAs)
This session is compulsory for all PhD researchers who intend to teach /support students as a PgTA, and should be completed before undertaking PgTA duties.
Each Introductory session is based on a flipped approach:
- pre-session materials provided to participants a week in advance of the synchronous session (approx. 1-1.5 hours)
- online synchronous session (2.5 hours)
The aim of the session is to provide
- key information regarding the role of PGTA and the Code of Practice for PGTAs;
- introductory guidance on delivering effective sessions and assessing students.
Course Dates 2021-22
All sessions run from 1-3.30pm:

- 18th January 2022
- 20th January 2022
- 3rd May 2022
Bookings for all dates will close 1 week prior to the course date (15th October date closes on 11 October 2021)
